Re: Generator

It is truly an odd duck of a panel, there are only four full-sized spaces underneath the main breaker. I've never personally been a fan of meter main combinations, because one part always fails first and you have to replace the whole unit. They're very common in Davie and Plantation and houses buil...

Re: Generator

It is a GE meter/main combo. If he had shown another 18 in up you would see the meter. You can see an FPL tamper tag if you look closely. The main breaker actually takes up both sides of the bus under the metal deadfront. So a side by side interlock wouldn't work I installed an interlock in one of ...

Local Mechanics

Anyone have any local mechanics in the Tri county area (preferably Broward) that could do a motor swap on a 86 MCSS? I’d like to ditch the 305 for a mild 350, nothing crazy, first quote was $6000.

Re: Generator

Yeah it’s a GE panel w GE circuits, my panels (inside and outside) look nothing like those pictured lmao  Forget the inside panel. Generator hooks up to outside panel. Post a pic of the panel (with door open) showing the measurement between the main breaker and the top of the other breakers....

Re: Generator

Any other ideas where I can figure out what Box I have so I can get the correct interlock? If you go to the website I linked, under "Interlock Kits", they have just about every manufacturer known to man, along with pics & measurements. You'll have to do some "show & tell"...

Re: Generator

Thanks for the good info, fortunately all our power lines are buried and we haven’t lost power for more than 15-20 minutes in the 7 years I’ve lived here. GE Powermark Gold Load Center is on the inside circle breaker THQDL21150 Is written on the top circuit outside (2 pole 150 amp circuit breaker),...

Re: Generator

An interlock is based on which electrical panel you have. It ads a backfeed that will only turn on when you kill the power feed from the meter. They make them as an accessory for each panel. Its kinda Like you can get aftermaket headlights for your car, but they are still specific to what model car...
