Those transfer switches are typically designed for a 30 amp interface. So you'll be able to run your fridge a few lights and ceiling fans. If you ever buy a bigger generator, you have to upgrade the transfer switch. If you get an interlock device, you're turning the whole house off from FPL power, ...

Since the advent of online sales I haven’t seen a decent deal at a gun show in a decade. Unless I’m looking for a small one off item that’s nearly the cost of shipping or some odds/ends stuff, they’re vastly overpriced (especially when including entrance/parking).
