Officials investigating possible shots fired at law enforcement academy in Gadsden County
My radio went nuts about a possible active shooter occurring at the Pat Thomas Law Enforcement Academy. It is where the State run academies for the Florida Highway Patrol and Florida Wildlife Commission are held. They have dorms on the grounds for the new hire trainees. Also regional agencies train there snd do their academies too like the local area Sheriff's Offices and Municipal PDs.The Gadsden County Sheriff's Office, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation, Florida Highway Patrol and campus police at the Pat Thomas Law Enforcement Academy are on the scene after officials received a call about potential shots being fired at the academy.
GCSO says there is currently an on-going investigation to determine if shots were fired or not.
A source close to the scene tells WCTV that shots were potentially fired at the dorms of the academy and the dorms have been evacuated. This has not been confirmed by law enforcement.
Officials say a precautionary search and canvasing of the dorm area is taking place.
There has been no confirmation on if shots have actually been fired.
Turn out there might have been a negligent discharge in the dorms.
If that was the case. Someone is definitely screwed.
