After your long search it brought this to my old musicians mind that you had finally found your Holy Grail of U.S. battle rifles .............
"Carry on,
You will always remember
Carry on,
Nothing equals the splendor !
Now your lifes no longer empty, surely heaven waits for you !"
From the song "Carry on Wayward Son" from the 1976 Kansas album "Leftoverture"
"I do not want to die, but if they try to disarm me, I will surely die that day."
"Guns Don't Kill People, Husbands That Come Home Early Kill People"

It was the first big bore rifle I shot moving up from small bore target shooting competitively...open sights on both. And they laughed when the 14 year old kid got his thumb jammed in the receiver trying to load the thing. Only took once. I was immediately impressed at how it shot at 300 yards.

Your 10" 300BLO wasn't used by the greatest American generation to defeat fascism.Outgunu wrote: ↑Sat Dec 08, 2018 12:02 pm My next door neighbor has many M1 Garands. I have never felt love for these things. Garands are heavy, take an overly large cartridge, don't use detachable mags, limited scope mounting options and are just plain ole ugly. Please explain what is is about these that make you want to spend good $ on one. (Edited to add that I do have a M1 carbine, I consider it a light, mag fed, handy little rifle, but I feel that my 10 inch 300BO is better in all ways.)

A wonderful piece of history that puts smile on my face when clip goes "choing".
Also puts smiles on others nearby at the range
