After your long search it brought this to my old musicians mind that you had finally found your Holy Grail of U.S. battle rifles .............

Carry on,

Now your lifes no longer empty, surely heaven waits for you !"

It was the first big bore rifle I shot moving up from small bore target shooting competitively...open sights on both. And they laughed when the 14 year old kid got his thumb jammed in the receiver trying to load the thing. Only took once. I was immediately impressed at how it shot at 300 yards.

Garands are heavy, take an overly large cartridge, don't use detachable mags, limited scope mounting options and are just plain ole ugly. Please explain what is is about these that make you want to spend good $ on one. (Edited to add that I do have a M1 carbine, I consider it a light, mag fed, handy little rifle, but I feel that my 10 inch 300BO is better in all ways.)

A wonderful piece of history that puts smile on my face when clip goes "choing".
Also puts smiles on others nearby at the range
