Why does the government have any say is a church has armed security, separation of state and religion and such?

Because it's an official state sanctioned and regulated police force, not armed security.

It's like the difference between university police and university security. One, like was pointed out, is actual police with the powers of arrest. The other is what the university authorizes their guards to allow.

I do armed security for churches and synagogues, and my job essentially boils down to "put down active shooter" if there is one. Any authority I have that they give me ends at the parking lot.

...to allow a Presbyterian church to have its own police force.
Kind of odd since the Presbyterians have a pacifist ideology.

Not odd. It's what most people here support and preach about, needing more armed personal at schools.
They're just being pro-active in protecting their congregation, faculty, and over 2000 students in their private school and even more students and faculty in their other campus.
This has nothing to do with their ideology, it has more to do with common sense. That's more people than many small towns have.

What's the big deal about a Christian school wanting the same rights as a university. Universities have their own police. Why can't a religious school have one to protect their students.

The statement that crimes will go unreported. Well if that's a fact and documented as fact. Then end all campus police forces. Just don't single a religious college, university or other academic institutions just because it has to do with CHRISTIAN PRINCIPLES or CHURCHES.

Another thing wtf is the ACLU doing sticking F'ing nose into this. Are they afraid a ISLAMIC terrorist will be shot. That would be racist wouldn't it. That a terrorist was killed in the commission of an act of terrorism against CHRISTIANS, now wouldn't it.

Lord to single out ISLAM as doing anything horrible will bring the wrath of the LIBERAL SOCIALIST NAZIS PARTY upon you.

I don't get these people that protest. It's like all common sense is thrown out the window. Gun free zone obviously don't work except in DEMOCRATIC SOCIALIST EXTREMISTS NAZIS PARTY fantasy world.

Just because your a Christian entity you now have no right to defend yourself or the right of the same protections as others.
