.300 BLK Zero distance?

I am going to the range and adding a scope, will be the first time shooting this so wondering how many yards to zero the rifle for fixed sights and then with the Viper 6.5–20x50 PA with the Mil Dot. The barrel length is 16" no compensator, 18" when I add one (waiting for it in the mail)

25 yard zero is sufficient. I just saw you had a scope. Might do 50 yards if your shooting out to 100 yards and beyond
