I had an eye exam last week and the Doc said nothing had changed and my old glasses were good to go, but since my insurance was picking up the tab, I should get some prescription readers that were made to address my particular astigmatism.
I just picked them up.
GOOD LORD!
Comparing them to $3.00 glasses from Walmart is like drawing a line in the sand with your toe and comparing it to the Grand Canyon!
That's the best $150 I never spent!

Nice!!
Did you know these new-fangled things have sights in the back AND front?
Yep. I got tired of buying the plain "cheaters" to be able to read a book and newspaper and splurged and got my reading only prescription filled at a Wal-Mart for a plain set of frames.
$45 out the door and prescription readers make a HUGE difference.

I decided to say piss off to glasses entirely and spent $3000 on PRK lasik.
Probably the best $3000 I ever spent.

Not an option for me.
After cataracts turned my lenses into waxed paper, I had them replaced.
I was given the choice or distance or close vision and chose distance, so I'm stuck with readers for life.
If I had known in 08 what I know now, I would have bought the good ones then.
I had a botched cataract surgery last Jan, I will pay for it everyday for the rest of my life, not eligible for lasik now due to the implants, I would have never had it done if I knew it would be like this, I'm no longer a pistol shooter, and can't see shit anywhere in between....I wasn't supposed to have to wear glasses, now I have 2 pairs that don't helpTC6969 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 08, 2019 2:52 pmNot an option for me.

don't mess with your eyes
Sorry to hear that Buddy.
Mine went smooth as silk, took about 15 minutes and I just tested 20/20 for distance last week.
By now (11 years later) without it, I would be pretty much blind.

Sorry to hear that, Rent. Any chance of a malpractice suit?
