I'm so wanting to purchase an SBR .300 blk with a can.
Chances are we will be moving to Oregon in about 3 years when I retire.
Does anyone have any idea how difficult to transfer the NFA weapon from Florida to Oregon if thats even possible?
What are the issues with moving to another state with NFA weapon?

It's not a terribly big deal - you need to submit a Form 20 to ATF, which seeks permission to transport NFA items across state lines. You'll need to specify each state you're passing through, and don't change your route after you receive the approved form back.

Thank you Odessaman.
That answered my question.
Much appreciated!
I am assuming the exact routing from point A to point B, will be listed on form 5320.20?
Sort of sucks to have to stick to a pre set cross country trip.
As an alternative, can the firearm be shipped from a local FFL to the destination FFL and pay a major transfer fee?

I was under the impression that if you were moving permanently other paper work needed to be filled, like changing the address on the trust.
I thought the form 20 was only good for one year and was to be used if you were taking an sbr to another state to hunt with or for a training class.
Odessa man, thanks for the help,

Can not say for Oregon, as I do not know their state laws concerning NFA items.
When I moved from Florida to Mississippi, I filled out a ATF form that notified the ATF of a permanent change of state address for my NFA items.
Nothing was required by Mississippi, as NFA items are legal there if registered with the ATF, just like in Florida.
When I moved back to Florida 12 years later, it was the same drill.
