Post by Sundayknight »

Thinking about going to Gasparilla. Never been before and am wondering if its worthwhile to go and looking for tips about how to make the most out of it.

As a cultural event I think it's definitely worth seeing at least once in your life if you're a Floridian. It's a parade so you have a beer, enjoy the displays and the crewes throw stuff at you. I got some Gasparilla-themed coins that were pretty cool. As a cultural event you'll appreciate it more if you learn about the folkloric traditions behind it and there's dress-up afterparties and stuff.
