Wealth and power are concentrated in the urban population areas, to no one’s surprise, I’m sure. The question I ask is whether they (cities) have a right to determine how those less-populated areas (counties) live, given their outsized influence in the political (and therefore, legislative) process which creates new and progressive laws.
The liberal agenda should not be able to prevail over the status-quo conservative lifestyles many of us choose. How do we escape their agenda when all we want is to be left the hell alone? It appears the left is definitely provoking a response from the right.
I would also like to point out, in regard to the graphic posted above, that the U.S. GDP is nothing more than a financially-engineered bubble, the largest in world history. That means those counties that account for 70% of our nation’s wealth are the ones that will be hardest-hit when the next great depression arrives. As sure as night follows day, the low-population flyover counties will be the ones they tax at much higher rates to generate funds to cover the gap. This is exactly how the conflict started between North and South in 1861. The rich urban counties are setting us up for a repeat within our states.
