Ingenious - Store owner traps a BG until LE arrives!

Post by FfNJGTFO »

A store owner, getting tired of being robbed, constructed a "trap" for the unsuspecting BG. Rather ingenious, actually! See the video below. It's a little long, but you can see him attempt to escape and then get caught by the LEOs.

Some Interesting thoughts -
  1. THe BG's first mistake was allowing the internal door to close behind him. He should have placed some kind of plug/shim to stop the closure and keep it open.
  2. At 06:40, you see the BG put his hands behind his head (I assume the LEO is ordering that). And then the LEO opens the door.
  3. The LEO is using the flashlight on his "drawn" weapon to check around, Is that legal? He then re-holsters when he no longer needs the light an he's securing the BG.
  4. The LEO also makes the mistake of not plugging the door open and depends on the BG not lifting his legs to allow the door to close, locking out the one LEO. But I think his partner would have re-opened it, though.
I guess, if you have the space in your store to construct such a trap... quite ingenious! I actually had thought the entry window (in the back) was going to open up to that cage (that looked like a jail cell), but I gather he might have seen that in advance and bailed on it.

Anyway, one for the good guys! No property was stolen, and nobody got shot!

It's been suggested that it's why the store owner left the "bucket" in the trap room.

Yeah, but wait until the perp claims "inhumane imprisonment," lacking food, water, magazines and a bed.

Should've filled the room with chlorine gas...

Definitely not a happy camper. What puzzles me is where the changes of clothes come from, dark clothes to light clothes and back again. Can’t be a trick of the light as the plastic pail remains white.

Ah, you're right. I forgot about that. Just goes to show how easily one could get into trouble with some un High Commissioner of some such. Possibly even a trial at the Hague. That's where all our self appointed muck-mucks are pulling us.

Looked like something we catch in the squirrelinator trap here regularly. Funny as hell. I hate a thief.
