Our new home on Indio CA

Post by Ger42 »

Just found our electrical panel is on the outside of the building out side the fence. I've owned 2 homes in CT, 2, in Il 1 in NY, 1 in FL and none of them had the electrical panel on the outside. Bad gun laws stupid building codes but food prices are a lot lower and gas is only $4.30 a gal.

Can you secure it, at least, so that it can't be "tampered with?"

Small lock would slow someone down but not stop a person with bad intent.

Putting a lock on it is a good idea. If you don't like the little hasp for a lock on those panels, you can have an electrician and a beefier means of locking it.

I'd make something involving a 12 gauge Dragon's Breath shell, a mousetrap, a nail and a string. Legal, safe AND effective!

Lots of earthquakes yesterday and today 63 miles SE of us. We didn't feel a thing. I am learning earthquake prep is way more complicated then hurricane perp.

Locks keep honest people honest and defeat about 90% of the thieves who are too dumb to figure them out.
