They are right, too. If the Supreme Court wants to directly overrule Roe v. Wade, OK--sack up and do it. But this kind of end-run is dangerous and foolish on a plethora of rights, First and Second Amendments in particular.

I understand your position and a couple decades ago I would have enthusiastically agreed but the truth is we are well past the point where laws are restraining the left from doing anything they want. The legal battle was fought and lost long ago, now we've got the culture war.
