That would be fantastic. Yeah the club did railroad him really badly to. Accused him of all kinds of BS that was not true. The new leadership at the time just wanted him gone. Sad day when the new antigun elitists took charge of Manatee. It is a joke now what you must do to join and shoot there. That is if they allow you to join now. They want a certain type of member now. To be fair though I do not know what they require to be a member now. They change requirements so often who knows.
For those of you who don't know Gene and how he was railroaded by the old regime - you may recognize his face.
Gene has been associated with MGC since the inception of the club back in the old 'Lena Road' days when the club was next to the county landfill in the late 70's.

Glad to hear about Gene!
My son and I attended some FSN event “area 51?” back when he was a college student.
We had an M2HB and 1919A4 set up on the far end of the line, shooting at some big server rack sheet metal targets.
After the event, we asked Gene where we could dispose of the jagged steel, and did as he instructed.
While the son and I were putting the metal where Gene instructed, some nasty RSO told us to stop and get out. Gene set him right, we appreciated his call!

I have the ability to put another FSN shoot together, I have access to 2 different ranges that could accommodate us, you guys need actually put some effort into it and actually come out. Y'all see the vids, its always a great time, but its always the same fine few gentlemen who show and do all the work, and the same sorrow song from the losers who never show up, we give plenty of notice for you to take off work, ask your female keepers, or beg your mom for gas money
...or whatever.
The last few have been located in West Central FL either Leesburg or just west of Brooksville, thats pretty much the center of the state, each range is 200 yds plus and pretty much shoot anything you want, with limited rules, how many other gun clubs let you do that ?? .....Yet it's too far for some of you to drive ....Boo frickin hooo, you will drag your screaming kid to the stupid mouse or wife for that weekend getaway and its the same distance, what ever happened to a guys day, or father and son trip ?....oh you must have to save those for football or ask your wife to go fishing.
I'm willing to start planning a FSN shoot for the fall if thee is interest, but I don't wanna hear any bitching about ammo crisis, or ammo is too expensive, or gas costs too much, let's do it

The first FSN shoot Rent put together over in Leesburg was awesome and only got better as they went along from what I could see.
