Life in prison ain't no cake walk for a young kid. I'd rather see him in prison reliving what he did every day. That is more torture than shoving a needle in his arm and relieving him of his guilt and anguish and looking over his shoulder every hour of everyday.
Someone wanting some "creds" will get him,sometime,somewhere they'll get him.

I would agree, save for one thing. The victims' families are without their love ones. They can't visit them, except for where they may be buried/ashes scattered. Cruz is still alive and, even though tucked away for life, can still receive visits from his family, friends, lawyers, etc. etc. He can still "make friends" with other inmates if he works hard at it. It comes down to a simple question to be asked/answered by everyone. "Are there crimes and circumstances for which the forfeiture of life is that necessary and sufficient measure of justice?" IMHO, the answer is "yes," and Cruz and his actions fit that bill. No, it won't bring the victim's back, and, most unfortunately, Cruz's family will suffer just as his victims' families suffer. But justice will have been served and Cruz will have been held accountable to the fullest extent.
Well, at least one of the jurors might have been liberal. The vote was 11-1 in favor of the death penalty. But it does worry me slightly about future capital cases. All it will take is for the anti's to get just one of them on the jury... just one... And then no more capital punishment. At least not in Fl.

In murder cases, it should be up to the victim's nearest and dearest to decide the perpetrator's fate. If they can find closure or comfort only through execution, then no bleeding-heart liberal should be able to say otherwise. Conversely, if the victim's nearest find it in themselves to let the murderer live, then no capital punishment advocate should say otherwise. One more point. If the victim's family do choose execution, then it is their responsibility to administer it, to pull the switch, press the plunger, drop the trapdoor, whatever.
