Did you know that the lowly and often maligned .22 rimfire can be a very useful way to practice long range shooting?
Years ago, Matt Burkett had a podcast show.
On one of them he discussed this very subject.
He explained that most people, even serious long range competitors, don't practice enough with their chosen centerfire rifles.
Mostly due to the cost of ammo and the collective effect of recoil.
But .22s are an excellent substitute.
The .22 rimfire at 100 yards very closely duplicates a .308 at 300 or so yards, providing a very agreeable and inexpensive substitute.
Just a thought.

It never ceases to amaze me how someone can come up with a technological advancement like this on a pre-existing product in their own time and with their own money under these conditions:
The receiver, the bolt and the barrel were made in a small garage/homeworkshop with a german milling machine from 1968 and a chinese lathe.
:ugeek:

While the supposedly well-paid product development team at Ruger comes up with stupid marketing gimmicks like this:

While this rifle does not display any new features or technology, it is a nice rimfire package that someone could thoroughly enjoy if not simply collect.

....and some rin up hill and down dale, knapping the chucky stanes to pieces wi' hammers, like sae mony road-makers run daft - they say it is to see how the warld was made!
