Why is that a particular concern? 95% of Amazon packages don't disclose contents externally.

It only takes pics of letter size envelopes, not packages or boxes. I don't see the big problem.

The shipping labels contain coding that could allow a LEA to trace the package back to whomever ordered the goods and then to force Amazon to reveal the contents if they get a warrant. It's why, for example, whenever I recycle an amazon box, I remove the labels from it first.tector wrote: ↑Sun Dec 16, 2018 11:49 pmWhy is that a particular concern? 95% of Amazon packages don't disclose contents externally.

Uh...if they were targeting you, they could already serve a warrant or subpoena on Amazon. This system adds nothing to that ability.FfNJGTFO wrote: ↑Mon Dec 17, 2018 7:38 amThe shipping labels contain coding that could allow a LEA to trace the package back to whomever ordered the goods and then to force Amazon to reveal the contents if they get a warrant. Common Sense... so rare it's like a super power
If... they were targeting you. What if they're just "fishing," and looking at everything just to try and find something on someone that could lead to more direct "targetting?"tector wrote: ↑Mon Dec 17, 2018 8:41 amUh...if they were targeting you, they could already serve a warrant or subpoena on Amazon. Think pre-crime data collection, tector.tector wrote:Whatever, man.
They (governments) are gathering evidence today in search of crime tomorrow. This is a full reversal of the principle of due process where the evidence follows the crime.
