Beware--USPS Informed DElivery

Didn't realize in today's age that people still opt for snail mail.
They can have all the pics they want of the bed bath and beyond coupons and packets of advertiser coupons they want.

Well, the only real consequence of this is that Amazon still utilizes USPS heavily for some shipments. That's the area of concern. Hopefully, the ammo manufacturers will use UPS and Fedex.

We'll see.

Why is that a particular concern? 95% of Amazon packages don't disclose contents externally.

The shipping labels contain coding that could allow a LEA to trace the package back to whomever ordered the goods and then to force Amazon to reveal the contents if they get a warrant. It's why, for example, whenever I recycle an amazon box, I remove the labels from it first.

If it doesn't cover the packages, then it can't be a really good system in re: its original intent (i.e. help scan for terrorist/anthrax activity, etc.).

I predicted 3 years ago, before they actually started, that within 5 years Amazon would have their own delivery service everywhere in the country. It's the only thing that makes economic sense long term.

Uh...if they were targeting you, they could already serve a warrant or subpoena on Amazon. This system adds nothing to that ability.

Uh...if they were targeting you, they could already serve a warrant or subpoena on Amazon. This system adds nothing to that ability.

If... they were targeting you. What if they're just "fishing," and looking at everything just to try and find something on someone that could lead to more direct "targetting?"
