Anyways. From what I recall, that is standard and hasn't really. It is a transfer. No different than ordering from Buds and having it shipped.

The 4473 and background has to be at the time when the buyer will take possession if the firearm. It isn't at the show.
Thanks for this post, it clears up the issue.

Ive always had them fill out my stamped 4473 at the show for a transfer left from a gunshow, I have to sign it and its my ass if its wrong....plus you wouldn't believe how many dealers can't fill one out properly

Not as of Saturday. Buyers at the show who did not have a CCW paid for the gun, & were then escorted by Joanne [Ira’s] wife to the local dealer who was doing transfers where they filled out the 4473. The ATF agents at the show conducted a quick class Sunday morning before the show opened explaining all of this. GARY.

Some had been doing it that way. The delivering dealer would attach the selling dealer’s 4473 filled out at the show to his 4473 filled out at his store for pick up. The ATF said no more. This way, the delivering dealer controls the 4473. But it is filled out at the show to start the clock on the waiting period. GARY.

To clarify, the buyer still fills out and aigns section A at the show, correct? Then the transfering dealer calls it in. Then when the buyer/transferee picks it up, he signs section C, and the dealer writes it out of the book?

After paying for the gun at the selling dealer, the buyer then immediately goes to the dealer who will be delivering the gun after the waiting period & fills out the 4473 there. That dealer does the background check during the week’s waiting period. Dealers only do background checks at the show for people with CCW permits. No need to waste time on the phone at the show for people who can not take the gun that day. GARY.

I postulate this is one of the final blows to gun shows in Florida.

Or it will motivate more people to get a CCW. GARY.

the mandatory 3 day wait after the Parkland shooting , didn't even motivate

we do the call in, that day, it also helps cover our ass at the fact they waited the waiting period with the approval date on the call in.

If Florida ever becomes an open-carry state, how will that affect CCW application numbers?
