It's only fair.
Like Danial Boone outrunning the Shawnees and making it back to Kentucky.
It would also save a lot of taxpayer money for chubby cop heart attacks.

Yeah, I don't see this working in a real world setting at all. Not only are a lot of cops out of shape, but most of them can't aim either. They'd have to surprise something with this thing, essentially initiating a confrontation themselves.

It's a cool concept, don't get me wrong, but I honestly don't see much real world use for it unless you're in Canada where defending yourself from a lethal home invasion with force is illegal.

A bola would probably work better.
You know, a thick rope with weights attached on the ends.
Probably an adaptation of the sling used by David to defeat Goliath and by the Roman slingers.
