Re: What was your first revolver?

My first revolver was a Ruger Security Six with 2 3/4" barrel in 357 magnum caliber. I got it in 1979 at Ace Air Conditions Sales and Repair in North Miami. It was $250 and included a box of Remington 158gr JHP ammo. I spent a lot of time with my dad with him teaching me to shoot double action with 38 wadcutter ammo. After a while I got good with that revolver and could hit clay birds from 25 yards about 4 out of 6 times shooting double action. Unfortunately I traded that revolver for a used S&W model 38 when Florida started issuing concealed weapons permits as the Ruger was a bit too large to carry concealed.
I grew up around double action revolvers mostly and it's what I shot growing up...except for a Colt 1911 Gov't model in 45ACP. My father and I collected a lot of revolvers in the 1990's when everybody was dumping revolvers to buy the latest 9mm and 40 S&W pistols. To this day I have more revolvers than pistols in my safe.
