Yep, that and mandatory sentencing guidelines reduced crime. there is a small segment of the pop who commit a huge percentage of the crime. Keep them in jail longer, crime goes down.
It we would stop the war on drugs and let LE concentrate on real crimes, it would drop even further.

24 years ago I did Monica Lewinsky and it had as much affect on the murder rate as the Assault Weapons Ban. I should do it again.
