While the NRA has turned into an ineffective as of late political machine and Wayne should be tarred and feathered, there is no one stepping up on the education side of gun ownership.
While with the internet, self education can be done, most people want in person. While parents who have guns at home should teach firearm safety, the majority of gun owners are dumb as a stump. That's where instructors like myself teach adults firearm safety at home and their kids the Eddie Eagle program. Eddie Eagle has gotten me into places where a self done program would not have opened the door.
I've had numerous parents call me and tell me while over a friend's house a gun was brought out by another child and their child went and told the adult in the home.
Too many times one kid has killed another in a home while playing with a gun.
Until GOA or 2nd Amendment Coalition or anyone else comes out with education programs, I'll send in my money for credential renewal and membership.
