The sad part to this is the homeowner could end up getting in more trouble than the thief for installing a booby-trap on his own property. Damn thief could also sue him if he got injured. That' just F'ed up big time.
And then the homeowner victim could sue the cops for not doing their jobs in the first place.
Oh, wait...

Set one up at a vacant house. Id be more worried about these pos coming back for retribution and F'ing something up on my home or car.
Of coarse if you had a montion detector light outside and it came on. You could see them because they'd sparkle

I had a hunch this was fake...everything worked out too well and the "criminal's" reactions seemed scripted:

There was a guy on another gun board who used to gift wrap cat turds in a box and leave it on the back of his pickup truck parked at the mall every year. And every year some thief got the surprise.

Should be OC/CS, glow in the dark staining dies from the bank die packs, and dog shit.

Some thieves will also want revenge, know where he lives, and target him for battery or burglary.
I'm in favor of setting up a device with OC/CS, glow in the dark staining dye, and a device that calls LE sayings they're a theft.
Of the old fashioned way.... take them to chop chop square and there goes the hand.
