The simple fact is that if lazy ass gun owners would get involved on a political level, we would not have the political arm of NRA today.
We the people got fat and lazy, were happy working coming home drinking beer and going to sleep and doing the same thing the next day, leaving the security of our rights to corrupt politicians, corrupt lobbiests, and political action groups who are corrupt from the top down because that's who we are as humans.
And now we want to get upset?
A little late looking for the horses after the barn doors have been open for decades.

If I'm not mistaken given his screen name, he is a Paul supporter which puts one at odds with dems and repubs.
Repubs for spending us into oblivion and the war machine, and dems for giving away the farm.

As with any of these "great movements" it's just a substitution of parties. Those of a grabber mentality, seriously infected with the "gets" disease (see something, they want to get it), want to be on top. In the Soviet era, the commissars/central committee/ party hacks wanted to be in place of the czar and the assorted royal hangers-on. Nothing to do with their announced "principles", just wanted to be the same "large and in charge." Same with organizations, distilled simply to, "Meet the new boss, same as the old boss."
