Any Bobcat experts here?

The tractor, not the cat...

I need to level my yard (1/2 ac.) and can't get anyone to show up for this "small job".

Was thinking about renting one for a day, but someone told me it's not as easy as it looks to level a lot with a Bobcat.

Sooo...anyone here have input/advice?

Thx.

I know people who are nowhere near as intelligent as you who pulled it off with no problem.

The rental people will probably spend 30 minutes showing you how to do it before they turn you loose.

If you screw it up, all you have to do is start over.

Its just pushing dirt.

Give it a shot!

I had the same problem with getting someone to grade my yard after I had some trees removed, so I rented one.
Same place I rented one to do hurricane clean up. Wheeled version with a brush grapple. That was the right tool for that.
You want the tracked version for grading and leveling.
They delivered it and I kept it over the weekend. They only charged me for a day (plus delivery)
They will show you how to run it. Make sure they show you how to float the arms.
It’s dirt, if you mess up you can fix it. Just try not to back over your palms, they lose....
Drop the bucket, float the arms, tilt the bucket, and back up. Repeat as needed.
They are fun to run.

Sir, if i can learn in 2 minutes I guarantee you that you can do it lol. Never had i been on one. It was a requirement at my job a few years ago. Also learned the bigger yellow one lol, dont know the name but it was a little harder but still easy as hell. Dont be afraid, good luck.

Edit: yellow one, backhoe lol.

also a Kubota tractor with a box blade is a lot easier to use plus you have the front bucket if you wanna add gravel, mulch or just move debris around

My local Home Depot rents all that stuff as well as the typical rental places. If you are in the palms beach area I could recommend a couple great bobcat guys.

Thanks. I'm going to give it a go with a rental. If I "F" it up and end up with a mudhole, I'll give you a shout.
