Until you had to go out and communicate with people without seeing their face?
I already knew I was deaf, but I had no idea I depended on lip reading that much!
Just for kicks, I asked my sister to say something and then cover her mouth.
Sis:
"I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States Of America, and (Covers mouth) wump whah woo fah meh."

i've known it for a long time, too many boom booms in the car when i
was young. i just ordered a pair of Signia hearing aids with built in
Bluetooth two days ago.

I spent a lot of years doing concert security in front of that stage, can't hear shit, I also have eye issues and already had cataract surgery, sensitivity due to bright lights etc, now I know why rock stars wear sunglasses everywhere and are deaf

I am. Tinnitus as well as loss of clarity. It's all just a dull roar now.

Tinnitus real bad, left ear basically deaf. 70s + over the ear headphones + Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, The Clash, etc.
When I see these kids with the in the ear buds I'm like, OK. But maybe in 30 years nanobots will fix that shit. I'll be long gone.

Been deaf for years. Wear hearing aids Siemens I think. Wife thought I had selective hearing until we went to the Dr. Once you lose part of your hearing you don't get it back.
