Trump folded

Post by neverenoughguns »

Am I the only one disappointment that Trump folded and now looks impotent. Are the wheels coming off or does anyone think there was a back foot deal that he will get the money for the wall and/or money for border security?

I predict Trump’s capitulation to Pelosi/Schumer & the Democrats will cost him the 2020 election. He’s one and done, unless he puts the dick to the sumbitches somehow.
Socialism is on the very near horizon, thanks to AOC’s ‘Green New Deal’ proposals and half of America’s voters that support her.
Our country is at a critical crossroads early in the 21st century.

It’s possible with the chance of limited military intervention with the crisis in Venezuela, he wanted his government operational and ready for any conflict that may arise in the coming days if the remaining US diplomats in Venezuela are arrested or attacked by the regime forces.

That would not even be an issue if we minded our own business, there and elsewhere around the world.
Besides being morally wrong, we can’t afford to keep borrowing money from our future to finance these wars of choice. That bill is soon coming due and we are going to share a lot in common with Venezuela when it does.

The commie suzsuckers have already taken over. WTF is in the drinking water that turned the population? Time for The Darwin Award to take effect. I was listening to the Libiturd news and a story on Venezuela and was a bit surprised when they said that when a dollar is worthless bullets have value. Then I should be rich!

Guys, I have probably been one of the most vocal critics of the President on this board, but I have to say I don't agree that he "folded." He's the President of the United States, not of the Republican party. Compromise is a bitter pill to swallow, but it's how things get done. That's not weakness, that's the way the founders set up the system.

From what I see, he basically just decided to be the adult, while setting some boundaries. Now, if he backs down on his 3 weeks pledge, that would be folding, but what he's done now is given the Dems a face saving way to come back to the negotiating table. I can only imagine how difficult it must've been to someone like Trump, but it took a remarkable amount of discipline.

I was honestly pleasantly surprised. I've been of the opinion from the beginning that he'd go back on most of his promises, but so far he's managed to keep true to his word. This doesn't mean I like the guy, I can barely stand to listen to him speak and really wish he'd shut up every once in a while (or at least learn to not start a new sentence before finishing the previous one). In any case, I'm not going to criticize him for this. I think the American people will see who was willing to compromise and who wasn't, and they'll respond accordingly.

Unfortunately, I think he himself has been the one to get people thinking in terms of absolute win/lose terms which is why he's now open to criticism. We'll see how this pans out in three weeks.

I've thought long and hard on this, and it's my feeling that he folded.

He always - from Day 1 - said the wall was necessary. If he waivered on this promise, what else will he waiver on?

Only way he can recover on this is to declare a national emergency and use military funding to build it now. In 2020 he will lose, along with both house and senate. This is the last chance to get it done.

Yes.
Even the mighty Federal Reserve Bank cannot overcome the hard laws of economics.
I bought some gold to preserve some of my family’s savings. Guns hold their value, but once inflation eats away the purchasing power of the dollar, our currency will be worth as much as Venezuela’s. It won’t buy much.

Why wasn't it done in the two years when the GOP controlled the Senate AND House? Just like repealing Obamacare? They talked about that endlessly, and had meaningless vote after meaningless vote, during the last six years of Obama. Then they get power and did nothing.

The GOP sucks. Face it. Too many RINOs, and Flakes (literally).

I would be very careful about starting the "national emergency" game. If you get another liberal pres in '20, what is their "national emergency"? Climate change? "Right wing terrorism"?
