If you can get a wire (Cat5e/Cat6) from your main router (Internet modem) to the place where you need stronger signal, do so and install a WAP (Wireless Access Point). Much more reliable than a range extender.
If a wire is impossible, check out the WiFi "mesh" systems. The Google system has excellent reviews:

+ 1 for the google system.
++1 on Google wifi.
Not to be all tinhat here( Definitely being tinhat here), but are you guys positive the Google one isn't hiding any little tracking goodies in it? Cause well you know, Google.

i have comcast internet and phone service and unfortunately
have to use their gateway modem with built in wifi. the wifi
is just not strong enough to cover the entire house, i've complained
and they already replaced the modem once but it didn't help.
that's why i asked about a range extender.

You can disable the Comcast WiFi in programming and plug in ANY manufacturers system into it. Range extenders are not the way to go.Slartibartfast wrote: ↑Sat Feb 09, 2019 4:11 pm i have comcast internet and phone service and unfortunately

NETGEAR WiFi Range Extender AC750 Dual Band |WiFi coverage up to 750 Mbps (EX3700)
When I was in Afghanistan, we would use an extender from amazon that would plug into the USB port on your laptop.
