looking for cheap shooting mats

Post by mohshard »

I am getting ready to range officer a shooting competition with pellet rifles in South Florida. The problem I'm running into is the shooting mats are in very poor condition, and all equipment needs to be equal for this one. Any suggestion on a cheap place to find 10 shooting mats?

It's for a non-profit, so I've got to keep the cost low

Edited to add shooting match will be a 10 meter range on the blacktop at the Coast Guard Station at Fort Lauderdale. So the mat needs to be able to provide some cushion against concrete. Not worrying too much about grass stains or dirt.

If you don't mind being creative, Harbor Freight sells some 40x72 moving blankets for about $5, and some twice the size for about $9.

Several guys I shoot with use these for shooting prone, and the big ones are large enough to fit two people.

Well, you could buy the larger moving blanket (80x72) and fold it in half for more cushion. They even have some camouflage ones for about $11.

They have a ton of of roll up matts that make perfect shooting matts
.Camping sleep matts are also inexpensive and work well.

I'll tell you what rule we applied sir.
We applied rule 303.
We caught them and we shot them under rule 303!
