More info here, but Israel's lawsuit against the Governor for firing him has been thrown out of court. Ruling that DeSantis acted within his authority as Governor and did not overstep. Sorry, Scotty.. :roll:

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) — A judge has dismissed a lawsuit filed by the Florida sheriff who Gov. Ron DeSantis suspended and accused of failing to prevent the Parkland school shooting.

A Broward County circuit judge dismissed the suit Thursday, ruling DeSantis' executive order removing Scott Israel from his position as Broward County sheriff was consistent with the Florida Constitution."

A sheriff is appealing a judge's ruling to dismiss a lawsuit alleging Florida's governor improperly suspended him for failing to prevent the Parkland school shooting.

On Thursday, a judge ruled that Gov. Ron DeSantis' executive order removing Scott Israel as Broward County sheriff was consistent with the Florida Constitution.

DeSantis has said Israel displayed poor leadership and failed to keep children safe during the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School that left 17 people dead.

The sheriff has said DeSantis overstepped his constitutional authority and interfered with the public's right to determine their elected official. Israel's attorneys issued a statement after filing the appeal Friday, saying the governor's use of suspension power is so important it must be decided by an appellate court.
A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools !

Israel is lucky he only got fired. I would have handcuffed him & put him in a room with all the parents of those dead kids. Then turn out the lights for about 15 minutes. Whatever was left of him would be fired from his job & banned from ever stepping foot in the great state of Florida...

Keep the light on but very low so the parents do not beat each other up.........or paint his face with glow paint
