I have approximately 400-500 rounds of AP 30-06 ammunition that I found hidden in my grandfather’s attic after he passed nearly a decade ago. It’s been sitting in my closet since, and I’m thinking of selling it to fund another project. However, I can’t seem to find a reliable source for pricing info. Headstamp is SL55, which I believe is St Louis 1955, which should be non-corrosive.
Anybody have an idea what this stuff is worth?
Black tip 30-06 pricing
About a buck a round is the asking price, and is should be non corrosive by that date.

I had 400 rounds of 30.06 I sold about a year ago. 200 FMJ and 200 Black tip. I sold 24 rounds of FMJ in 3 clips at a gun show for $24.00, I kept 3 full clips of black tip for myself, and sold the remaining 352 to a friend of a friend for $175. Probably 75 of the 352 rounds had some corrosion.
I've been selling off lots of my oddball caliber ammo lately and have pretty good success selling on Armslist and nation-wide forums, and shipping it. Ammo has to go UPS ground, and you can easily get a quote on ups.com...box it tight so it doesn't rattle around, use the 20% off code and print the label at home, and print an ORMD label from ups.com and tape it on the box. I drop it off at a UPS hub by my house....just for example: six 20 round boxes of .400 Corbon cost $9.00 to ship in state....350 rounds of 7.62x25 was $11.00 to go to Louisiana.

$1/rd is about what I expected. I see many online asking $2/rd, but it doesn’t appear anybody is buying at that price. Just trying to decide if it’s worth letting it go for that price.
Ammo stored in a hot Florida attic?

$1 a round is pretty common. The market softened a few years ago when the CMP sold a bunch very cheap but it’s back where it was I believe.

What kind of corrosion??? I have tumbled more then a few rounds that had some corrosion and the rounds worked fine..
To be honest, I don’t remember, as it was almost ten years ago. But I do recall sorting through and finding maybe 10 or 15 rounds that I wouldn’t attempt to fire, so I got rid of them.indy1919a4 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 18, 2019 12:27 amWhat kind of corrosion???
