This is a pet peeve with me. Almost got bitten in Wally's by a little service dog not on a leash with the owner several isles away.
Talked to a manager and policy is another. Spoke to a Publix manager and he said they have been sues many times. They can only intervene if an animal has an accidental discharge-then they can enforce a no animal on that owner. I asked what would happen if a dog bit me in his store....that is a civil problem between the owner and you!

^^^ I bet they still get brought into the lawsuits, as they have the biggest pockets and they should be sued. It is their responsibility to make sure people adhere to the laws/public safety.
It's about time this is started. Too many people out there who can't seem to function on their own without their animal constantly being with them for emotional support. It's getting ridiculous. I am totally for and believe in service animals that serve a purpose for people but not for your emotional needs. It's only a matter of time before someone sues one of the stores for letting people have their emotional support animals bite them. I am waiting to hear what is going to happen to the employee at the Home Depot who got injured from the idiot bringing in their pet monkey. The other day some lady was with her Doberman in the store and it didn't have a leash, even though there are leash laws. The manager thought it was cute. Idiots.

I once saw a guy in Publix pushing his cart with two parrots perched on the handle...I kept looking for the guacamole on hte floor.

Yet they bring the garbage out using the shopping carts.

Get package of soft-centered dog treats, replace center with chocolate Ex-Lax, scout aisles for dogs, get in front of dog and sprinkle modified snacks along edge of aisle. Hilarity ensues.
