Your correct a sand bag or padded rest will help with recoil better than a bipod. Now it depends to me anyways on caliber also. Larger I want a padded rest. Plus as far as accuracy between the two.
If you practice shooting alot. There won't be that much of a difference. The key is to shoot with what you plan on using the most and becoming good using it
