I'm no legal expert..just giving "school of hard knocks" opinions.
Taco and Joel both raise some serious issues you may want to look into.
They're NOT giving legal advice although, they sound to me like they know their sh!t.
So, considering their posts, I'll add:
Dude may one day loan you a tool or item, when you need it ASAP.
Dude may one day come blasting the bad guys trying to break into your hime.
Dude may render first aid when you fall off drunk from your riding mower.
Dude may have grounds for a lawsuit...all sorts of alphabet agencies will come knocking.
Most importantly,
Dude may one day let you know she's doing the pool boyz while you're contracting.
Pay up and sloooowly wean him off and stay chummy.

2) He's an un-armed pussy.
3) He's the drunk, not me.
4) Prove it.
5) His wife (who kicked him out) is banging her yoga instructor. My wife is faithful beyond reproach.

The guy may or may not have a valid claim that he should be paid when he meets you at your home. If your home is your place of business, and he's doing work in the morning, like loading the truck, he could argue for getting paid.
He needs to understand you're doing him a favor, and if he can't appreciate that, he can meet you on the jobsite and you owe him nothing for travel.

Nope. The only thing we do after meeting at my home is going to DD because he needs to stop for breakfast...wjbarricklow wrote: ↑Sun Oct 20, 2019 1:23 pm The guy may or may not have a valid claim that he should be paid when he meets you at your home. I'm slowly phasing him out...giving him less and less hours. Now he"s starting to work more for another contractor, but he's bitching because the guy is making him dig ditches.
Boo-hoo...
