AK drum magazine parts?

Post by flcracker »

I have an all-metal 75-rnd AK drum magazine that went to the range once the last time we had a shoot out at Preacher's. During a round of :o Casual :o shooting, the winding key disappeared into the dirt - the retaining ring inside the cover apparently sprung open just enough to let the key fly off. Never found the missing part, and the drum mag has been in a box since then, only to re-surface this past weekend.

Is it possible to buy replacement parts for these drum magazines? Google hasn't helped....

If it's just the outer, winged "winding" part, one could be fabricated pretty easily and blued to match the body. Any idea who manufactured it?

Pretty sure it's an older Korean drum. All steel, no markings

Is it possible to post pictures of it with the back cover open and closed? If someone can identify it, at least you'd know what to look for. Some of those drums are similar enough that a part from another one might be adapted to fit. Or, you could email the various companies that sell them and see if they have any spare parts lying around. I've got to believe when these were imported, some were either damaged in shipment or returned due to some malfunction.
