It's funny. I've developed a pat answer to those antis that constantly ask me, "Why do you need (all those) guns..." My reply being, "Why do some women need 100 pairs of Manolos? Or. why do some guys need 20 different automobiles?" It's not really a matter of *need* in any case. We *want* them... because we *like* them. At this point (and, based on what I can afford), I'd want a couple of items in each different class of weapon I'd like to master (i.e. learn how to shoot well), plus what completes my HD/SD/EDC plan. So, maybe a couple of different shotties (well more than a couple in this case since they're in my HD/SD plan), a couple of long distance sniper rifles (eg. Bravo-51/KATE II class), something in the .50bmg class (Barret M82A1), a couple of full autos (MAC-10 + (if I could ever afford one) a Thompson with drum mags), a couple in the AR platform, a decent 1911 .45acp (A Dan Wesson - I think Wilson Combat is a bit too pricey) and then whatever pistols I i want to complete the HD/SD plan. I'll probably stay with 9mm, .45acp and .556 for calibers. Maybe a .22 here and there for training others. Maybe Lapua .308 for the Bravo-51.
It's not a matter of "need." It's a matter of "right." As in, the "Right" to keep and bear. Just like the right of those ladies to "keep and wear" those Manolos!
