What states are the most pro-gun/anti-government? (that aren't freezing?)

Post by kayakingsteve »

I'm wondering which states are the most individualistic, pro gun and basically "Libertarian", for lack of a better way to put it.

I feel we have turned the corner and are on the way to becoming a more fascist/socialist country. I have no hope of things improving. I just want to find someplace where there is more of a buffer and I can be around more like-minded people. Cheaper land, more isolation...

The catch is: I don't like the cold, so; are there any good candidates further south than, say, North Dakota? I just want to ride out my days where I won't be surrounded liberals and big population centers when the next rounds of restrictions occur in years to come.

What makes anyone think that any other state wants anyones opinions and desires to change things. Look at why Florida is the way it is becoming, the influx of people mainly from the northeast but not all. Bringing their ideas of "this is how we do it where we come from".

Well then go back there. We like it just the way it is. Now if you want to come here and enjoy life the way it is here and bring some good with you then you are welcome. Otherwise we will run you right the hell out.

That is how it should be but alas, not enough people willing to stand up for that these days.

You're right, Florida is over-run by bitter notherners who hate everything Florida is and want to change it. I think Florida is too expensive, too crowded and too damn liberal now with this Desantis fella going right along with this fake panic.

I truly believe in the idea of "Life free or die" and could care less what others do nor do I want to be told what to do. The question is where may a place be that is a haven for the second amendment and libertarian types in general? (that is still not freezing year round, Alaska would be an option if I liked cold, but I do not)

I'm up for that big time BUT tell me, how do we do the first part ?

Well the way it gets handled here in the mountains might be different then it would be in FLorida. Laws, unfortunately they take time. Other means, not so muc (Legal ones, no violence) Thnk Of the Section 8 MightyD had to deal with a while back. :D

And I did say that is how it should be. I guess we need to figure out how to keep them out. No voting rights until you have been a resident for ten years. No holding elected office until 20. Something along those lines. HOA rules might help. Just thinking. Yes I know that is a long hard battle and probably never happen as Florida is already lost territory

That’s been my quest for a while, and I’ve watched target destinations fall off the list. AZ & NM are gone; even thought of CO years ago, though never really enthusiastic, and we see what that is now. NC is NJ South. VA overrun with assholes and governed by one (hey, enough voted for the creep). I’d be looking to move again, and I’m sure they’d say, “Don’t let the door hit you on the ass.”

I’ve lived in FL 23 years, and I will fight it by simply ignoring the creeps. No, one can’t keep one’s head in the sand, but I won’t be a sucker. Someone tells me how great it is somewhere else, I’ll listen (apparently thoughtfully) and then say, “That sounds great, when are you going?” Then, such a person is crossed off my list. I refuse to be annoyed or have my time taken up by them. I will remember for reference, but they otherwise cease to exist in my world. The British expression, “Sent to Coventry” says it best.

So, I’m staying in FL. No inconvenience for me transferring stuff. Maybe I’ll go to a different area, as my former desired areas are either junk or out of my reach (Keys). Whatever creeps may get elected, or policies enacted, I will ignore. I have made my decisions, and considered and accepted the consequences. The other side(s) need to do the same.

I don’t bother people, beat up people at ATMs, rob little old ladies (of course, that gets ignored while enforcing chicken-shit), and just try to get along in general. But, don’t mistake my niceness for weakness.

Sic Semper Tyrrannis (some states using the phrase need remember it)

I had to read the history of the "Sent to Coventry" reference. I learned something today!

I hope, sir, that you are represent a large but silent percentage of people out there who are fed up and will not be trod upon. I don't bother anyone myself but my patience has reached its end for the nonsense going on and I can't speak any more plainly than that in open conversation.
