Barrel diameter

Post by FFC666 »

I have a Smith & Wesson M&P15 and I am looking to replace my handgaurd and (of course) replace the gas block.

I dont have a micrometer and cannot get an accurate diameter of its barrel.

Anyone know what the outside diameter of the barrel of the M&P15?

Thanks!

Almost every "standard" AR barrel is .750"
- I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you... -

Unless you plan on keeping the front sight tower for some reason you could always just modify/chop off the tower and the bayonet lug and have a perfectly functioning pinned gas block. Your gas block journal should be as mentioned .750.
