The city of stone mountain is at the bottom of the mountain. The mostly white residents of stone mountain live up on the mountain. Many years ago it only whites. Now towards the lower part of the mountain there are a few black residents.
There are two totally different populations living there with most of it upon the mountain. Again do not believe everything you read. There was a time that if a BLACK person went on the mountain. They had better not stop. Just keep driving and before they reached the top. Everyone knew they were there. Just keep driving till they were over it.
Unless you were driving up there to see someone about doing work. But even then. Your drove straight to that home and left. You never ever wanted to be up there after dark. Now I'm not saying that it's still like that.
Alot of folks have become more tolerant now aday.
But I say let those armed black racist loud mouth trouble makers up there after dark and let them march and yell out their racist remarks. I'm sure they all will be just fine and will come down that mountain.
Maybe just not they way they went up. Maybe thrown off the edge of it. But the POLICE will go up there in the morning to protect them. Those weapons they have. Will all be gone.
SERIOUSLY that'd be the biggest mistake those fools could do and those LEOs knew that. They were protecting those IDIOTS from their own stupidity. It would have been like trying to march across a swamp/jungle full of crocodiles.
Everyone of them would have been killed and those mountain people would have been justified in defending themselves after listening to those fools. Because they were looking for trouble. That officer laughed because he though for just a second they should let them go on up.
Hell even if your WHITE and don't have family up there. You don't go up there screwing around. Unless your invited or a guest.
Oh yeah my aunt use to tell me. When you speak to your elders here. Always say yes ma'am and no sir. If they tell you do do something do it. I use to love staying the summer up there. Hugh KLAN presence up there back in those days. Don't know about now, but I'm positive there is still alot of sediment, of you don't screw with us. We won't screw with you.
But if anyone thinks they won't hurt you up there still your nuts. It's a totaly different world. It's like that in certain parts of Tenn, Kentucky, WV, Va. and other place too. Even here in Florida still in some of these small towns in North Florida and around other parts. It's kinda of an unspoken exception.
I'll tell you right now. In KY there's places I'm nervous to go to and I've got relatives there. Because there are still fighting other families over stupid crap. I remember barely one room log cabins with wood burning stoves.
Outhouse no running water. You had to walk to a spring with a bucket. Cooking on that wood burning stove. My uncle went by the name of Trigger. But his real name was Ernest. He was shot twice once in the chest with shotgun and cut and stabbed I don't know how many times.
What saved him with shotgun was he threw both hands up over his chest. He lost 3 fingers on one hand and 2 on another. But he survived. I'll tel you this, I'd not want that man after me. I believe he did two stints in the Kentucky State prison at least. Don't know for what.
They'd shoot at each other over politics. Using 8mm mausers I remember them using that word. But mom and dad got us out of there when I was 11 I think. I was in 7th grade.
Went back to visit my aunt's, uncles and cousins. Man the country girls were hot and easy
Didn't fool around at stone mountain though. Those old people up there scared me. Plus they kept a tight noose on their daughters.
Had a fun time with the boys though. We'd get into all kinds of things and they did know which girls that live lower down the mountain that fooled around. Got my butt beat though by my uncle. Got caught drinking one night. I mean beat too. Hard core CHRISTIANS
But they eventually moved. They said things were to strange up there even for them. Just remembered that. It felt different up there on top of that mountain some how. Kinda like the children of the corn different.
