One of these days I'll find the right deal on a kit and get one put together.
A 1919 has been on my list for awhile.

Bonus points for the olive drab beer can from 1944 or so.

Mine was a genuine Preban Steyr Aug a1, I decided to get the modern clone STG 77 SA which took a while to save up for but by far my favorite firearm to shoot and is close to the original pre bans

At the end of WWII Styer of Austria changed the K98k code from BNZ to a new lettering.
There are only 6 known to exist as this was literally the last week of the war they did this so few were made and the only one I ever saw online sold for $20K (2007) and it was sporterized.
With K98k all original much higher now than 2007 my dream find would be one of these at a garage sale unaltered.
My guess is $100K and up
The one that sold started at $350.00 and a guy emailed the seller saying he would buy it if seller including shipping.
Seller said no but he would do $350.00 + $25.00 shipping and the guy turned him down
(I had dealt with the seller so has his email)
He obviously had no idea what it was (and neither did I) but when I asked on a WWII sites about that was when I leaned what it was and why at $20K it was a bargain.
Seller emailed me joking he had no idea what he was going to insure it for and what that would cost.
I jokingly suggested he could afford to fly it to the buyer and hand deliver it
