Good question, but remember that the military is not just the generals. The military includes the middle-grade and junior officers and non-commissioned officers as well as the enlisted troops. And while the woke poison has spread into these ranks too, there is a real question about whether those leaders, who are where the tank treads meet the road, would follow an order to make war on American citizens.

Remember that the Big 0 stripped out the mid level officers 10 years ago, and replaced them with those who were more "politically desirable." Those who were 0-4 and above are now command grade, wearing stars. So, yes, the leadership will indeed follow the political line. It's been that way for a long time, as one had to do well on the cocktail party circuit even 50 years ago to get promoted beyond 0-3.
As far as enlisted, the majority are gung-ho kids who will do what they are told. Consider that the bases will be in lockdown when anything serious starts, and the compromised command grade officers will spread the propaganda (OK, official doctrine). The enlisted will know only what they are told. BTW, the current lockdowns for the "disease" are very convenient and helpful to this end. Also, communication will be controlled, so external information will be limited. No, the military will not be your friend.
I very strongly object to some of the stuff spewed about, militias, organized actions, which amount to an insurrection, and some leading to the overthrow of the US Government. That would justify a military response. However, short of that, I fear the military will be used wrongly to impose a program of oppression and worse, that might be imposed should a demo victory, especially if they get both houses of Congress in addition to the Executive. They will be used as a national police. At that time, it will indeed be "Cry havoc...."

Got to remember it's all an illusion of control because if it turns to a total shit show, there's not enough enforcement vs general population to take control.
Which probably is why they are cultivating a culture of snitches/informers. I thought long ago about what you said above, and could even have made a case for it being worse (in terms of ratio). However, a bunch of snitches changes the equation. They can hit one known house, rather than stretching resources among all houses in a given area. Sure, some of the non-hit could contain "contraband", but there's where the snitches come in. If one is raided, others may scurry around afterward, trying to conceal their "stashes" elsewhere, and the snitch sees it. The rest is obvious.
No matter who or what is in charge, and what promises/threat they make ("I'm coming for your AR-14"; or, "I'll do it by executive action") let's face it, Ratface Beto and Kamela SSH (suck start Harley) are not themselves going to come to your door. They can only shout, and then have operators looking at a paycheck coming to your door.
