With 40 gal., we have to coordinate running the washing machine, but it's not a biggie. I typically don't do laundry & shower, nor does she. The dishwasher doesn't affect the shower.photohause wrote: ↑Tue Sep 29, 2020 6:21 pm just teh two of us, plus our dependent - the washing machine.

does "getting enough hot water" mean the water is not
hot enough or it runs out too quickly ?

A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools !

I researched hiring a licensed plumber for my home build. The State requirements/qualifications read as follow:
1) Sh*t rolls down hill.
2) Don't chew your fingernails.
3) Payday is on Fri.
That's when I decided to DIY.

I've been working for various engineering firms as a plumbing designer for the last 35 years, my expertise is in laying out and sizing sanitary/waste, vent, storm drainage, domestic water, RO/DI water, medical gas, natural gas and fire protection piping.Tenzing_Norgay wrote: ↑Thu Oct 01, 2020 10:27 pmI researched hiring a licensed plumber for my home build. I've worked mainly on healthcare facilities projects but also designed a few sports arenas, commercial facilities, penitentiaries/schools (same thing almost) etc.
I have not until recently designed residential plumbing.
When I have any home plumbing issues that require more than replacing the flapper in my toilet tank I call the professionals that do this type of thing all day everyday.
That being said, somewhat similar to the 3 requirements above, the 3 rules of plumbing I was taught by my mentor back in 85 are as follows:
1. Shit flows downhill.
2. Hot's on the left, cold's on the right.
3. Pay day's on Friday.

Done deal with a local qualified, licensed plumber with lots of positive feedback from friends & neighbors. I'll be draining any sediment once a year from now on. Two kids who installed it had it done in a little over an hour..told them that they probably had done these before, one said "we watched a couple of You Tubes on the way over".
Thank you everybody for your feedback, as usual.

Like said earlier, GO TANKLESS! Your electric company will hate you.
Oh and if it a dual element and the water isn't getting warm there is real problems with it.
