Senate and Race

Warnock’s victory is a symbol of a striking shift in Georgia’s politics as the swelling number of diverse, college-educated voters flex their power in the heart of the Deep South. It follows Biden’s victory in November, when he became the first Democratic presidential candidate to carry the state since 1992.
Yeah, diverse, college educated voters.

Even with this victory, Democrats will have to contend with Senate Republicans. Securing both Georgia seats gives Democrats 50 seats in the Senate, plus Vice President-elect Kamala Harris serving as a crucial tie-breaker for simple majority votes. The catch is that most bills need to clear a 60-vote supermajority in the Senate. Therefore, even if Democrats have control of the Senate, they will generally need around 10 Republican votes to get things done.
Which ten GOP Senators?

Or, just like it was done to confirm SCOTUS picks, they invoke the "Nuclear" option. Also, I think one of the first things they're going to try is to eliminate the Filibuster anyway, so they won't need 60 votes.

Possible but every single Dem would have to agree. Manchin would be tough to get on-board, I think. He is better than some RINOs.

Which is why I'd love to see Manchin convert to the GOP (hopefully before 01/20) so we'll be back to 51-49, at least... and/or any other Senators of a similar inclination.

Possible. Something like the filibuster issue could push him over the top, so the Dems have to be careful. Same goes--even more--on court packing.

Tester (D-MT) is another one who I don't think would go for it either. If he moves too far left Montana will vote him out.

I hope pendulum will swing back in next election cycle...but I'm not holding my breath.

I'm thinking it may depend on how close we actually get to having some of those "socialist" policies implemented. Once the sheeples wake up and realize what's happening to them, they may start that pendulum swinging.

Maybe it already has started. Have you seen what's going on at the Capitol building today? Apparently it was swarmed by Protesters. The legislators had to clear out, and barricade the main door to the chamber with furniture! Mannnnn..... :o
