I also have one but I don't know if it was originally through CMP. I bought it from a fellow member of the Titusville Rifle and Pistol Club. It makes a nice stable mate to my Springfield 03-A3 and my M1 carbine.

I'm probably going to wait for some collector to die before I can nab one of their 35 Garands in an estate sale. :(

Oooh, I got 2 HK SLB-2000's. It's quite a heavy little weapon for what's essentially a carbine. One has a slightly shorter stock (bought it from a guy who had done that), and my wife has used it, but she likes the weight of her 12-ga better for deer hunting. I bought a replacement forearm and stock set recently, in case I want to revert it to factory. I prefer my Browning BAR in .30-06 for deer and pigs. Never shot a Garand, but my dad, a marine from WWII and Korea, still alive, loved the Garand and has long talked about them.
