Parents, family of the kids involved in gang activity/deaths only mentioned a couple of times in the second article. The whole piece reads like the entirely predictable results of the discharge of parental responsibilities into the custody of big-city society, sprinkled with liberal hints for the government to do something to address the problem.

I'm not seeing any rise in ammo prices (I check on Ammoseek weekly for the items that interest me), so I'm not sure. Maybe there are (perceived) shortages in the Northeast local stores, but here in FL? 
There’s no ammo shortages at gun shows where I’ve been. Just tripled prices. GARY
