Online Private Sale Gun Scammers.

Post by Miami_JBT »

I posted a "WTB: GLOCK 17 Gen 2" over on the S&W Forum I'm a long established member of and member john tyler sent me a message saying he has one and to email him to work out a deal.

To sum it up, fraud.

He pulled photos from a 2015 Facebook ad. I reversed image searched the photos he sent me.

But just to go further, I asked him to send me a photo with the gun and a piece of paper that said "MIAMI".

Image

He took photos from a 2019 post on GLOCKTALK.com and photoshopped a note.

Here is the original post from GLOCKTALK.

The actual thread he pulled the photos from.

The guy literally photoshopped a note saying "MIAMI". Talented SOB for sure.

Was going to do a buy with a guy up in Gainesville area last week. Told him to send me a copy if his FLDL, it was a fake. Numbers didn't match up. Asked him to do a video call with me over the phone, he wouldn't do it. Cancelled sale

Yes, some thieves are pretty petty and some have a decent IQ. If only they'd use it more wisely and.......honestly. Mav

Lots of assholes out there.
Must be cautious about who one deals with.
Slightly off topic but I've been a member on FSN since 2006 and dealt with many folks here.
I've never, ever had a negative experience with an FSN'er.

Have to give the guy credit though. Not a bad job. He even added a touch of drop-shadow. It's going the wrong diection, but still. He way over sold on the first post though.

Nice catch!
