No doubt about it, Andrew was nasty. I was really glad to be living in Orlando at the time. I heard locals talking about a storm that carried it's storm surge all the way across the Florida peninsula, at Orlando, long before my time.
The earliest storm I remember was Donna, in 1960. We were living in OpaLocka then.

Thing about Andrew was it was one of the driest hurricanes I ever heard off.
