@sbrinton
I have some pretty BIG news to share with you all today. I have accepted the offer to serve as the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Spent Fuel and Waste Disposition in the Office of Nuclear Energy for the Department of Energy.

Guys, meet Sam!

It used to be that you would hire people because of their qualifications: knowledge, experience, and character. And not by the way they looked, unless that was a required qualification.

I've seen some ugly MFers in my lifetime. But if a person qualifies, he/she could be permanently wearing a wookie outfit for all I cared.

That being said, I had to look him up to see who the heck that person was. Definitely not easy on the eyes.

It looks similar to something I scraped off my boots in the San Francisco airport.

Posts like this are like signposts for the split between Republicans and Libertarians. For some reason, this bothers Republicans, but Libertarians really couldn't give two shits.

I did some research on the guy, and when all the kids in class said "I wanna be a doctor, fireman, police etc this guy said "I want to be a nuclear waste disposal specialist".

Its some sort of life calling for him and he's supposed to be really good at what he does.

Some people just need more attention than others I guess.

Perhaps that’s an example of nuclear contamination :ugeek: Seriously, never judge a book by the cover.

Well yes and no. I don't want the state to get involved in this guy's personal life. He can like any consensual (with adults) shit that floats his boat.

But at some point--and people can disagree where, of course--it is a fair point to use someone's personal predilections as a general marker for their overall mental health. Maybe you think this is not it. OK, what if he was into extreme S&M scat porn? How about with dogs added in? And so on.

Then it comes to which position in our government you are talking about--that might change your answer, too. Probably nobody would care if this dude was a park ranger or a toll booth collector (do they still have those?). Maybe you are OK with him as Mr. Nuclear Waste--fine. How about as President? Or your kid's schoolteacher? I think for a lot of people the answer would not be uniform across the board.

He is free to live his life as he pleases. You and I are free to judge him on this as part of our free will. We aren't compelled to accept his choices as "normal", either.

I am sorry, but my moral compass won't bend here. I have no issue with his choice of porn. Once dogs are brought in, that does cross the consensual line, though. As POTUS, will he follow the Constitution? As a teacher will he follow the lesson plans as approved? If the answer to these are yes, then I really don't care in the least. People are weird with all kinds of kinks and leanings. At least this guy wears his on the outside.
