Remington settles with Sandy Hook parents
Remington didn't settle the case as they are out of business as the same entity it was legally when the massacre happened. The insurance company that represented Remington at the time settled. Is was done for several reasons. The first is to put the litigation behind them. The second is to do their part to put gun makers out of business. Several insurance company board members are heavily into the ESG movement. Settling this case will help to raise the costs of insurance and banking for gun makers as fewer companies will want to take the risk of hurting their ESG score and move away from the market.
